Richmond Tackles Land Use

Last night I attended the Richmond Neighborhood Association meeting. I was struck by such passion and talent from the neighbors in that area as they tackle their land use issues and look for solutions by crafting processes that can be duplicated around the city. Their determination to make a difference in their area by working with all the stakeholders is showing us the way to create win-win outcomes.

As we struggle to find ways to create density without losing the flavor of our neighborhoods, the residents of Richmond will be a great resource. The opportunity to be a voice and conduit for such passionate people in City Hall, where their hard work is often brushed aside, is one of the reasons I am running for city council.
