ANN SANDERSON TO RUN AGAINST AMANDA FRITZ FOR CITY COUNCIL

This afternoon Ann Sanderson filed paperwork at Portland City Hall to challenge incumbent Amanda Fritz for City Council Commissioner Position 1.

Sanderson, a community activist and recent leader of Stop Portland Street Fee, says that she is running to make City Hall more accountable to the people. “I really believe that at its most basic level, local government is ‘of the people, by the people, for the people.’ That hasn’t been the case for the past few years here in Portland. We can do better.”

Sanderson says she will focus on increasing community involvement, finding common sense solutions to the problems facing the city, and providing strong bureau leadership that makes priorities and spending sensible and transparent.

The primary will be held May 17, 2016.
